In the month when biggies like CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA, RAAZ THE MYSTERY CONTINUES and LUCK BY CHANCE are looking at initiating a bumper beginning to 2009, a small film called AASMAA too is willing to try its luck. Ready for quite some time now, AASMAA is kick starting its campaign to see a January release for itself.
Introducing newcomers like Subhashish, Haamid, Mansi & Khushboo, the film stars Seema Biswas, Nauheed Cyrusi, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Raghuvir Yadav, Sachin Khedekar and Aditya Lakhia in principal roles. The film tells the story about a theatre group comprising of talented and aspiring college actors who are set out to have fun. Somewhere along the way, they realize that they want more. And in the process, they want to touch the sky with their brilliance.
Directed by Rohit Nayyar, who has earlier made MUSKAAN (Aftab Shivdasani, Gracy Singh) and SUN ZARRA (Sameer Aftab, Anjana Sukhani), AASMAA is a story of people who have faith in spite of the tribulations that life throws at them. Through their insecurities, anxieties and dilemmas, they find that friendship and dedication leads them to newer heights, beyond the darkness that temporarily blinds each of them.
A Muzikzon Entertainment production, AASMAA has music by Afsar & Saajid with lyrics by Shahab Allahbadi. Highlight of the film is said to be a special song sequence that has been composed by the Pakistani band 'Call' (of 'Laari Chooti' EK CHALIS KI LAST LOCAL fame) and has been sung by Xulfi.
In the flood of biggies which would soon be flooding the multiplex screens, it has to be seen if a small time film like AASMAA manages to make some space for itself.
