Trust Anurag Kashyap to continue offering his audience something quircky, something unconventional in each of his films. He did that last year with NO SMOKING and for mainstream audience at the least, the reception was hardly heartening. The John Abraham–Paresh Rawal starrer surreal affair was a definite no–no after the first show itself even as audience was completely left clueless with all the 'aatma–parmaatma–nashvar shareer' talks. Now even as he returns with his next film DEV D, the 'let–me–do–it–differently' characteristic of Anurag Kashyap is visible yet again through his very first promo.

Over the weekend gone by, the promotion of DEV D kick started with a song called 'Emotional Atyachaar' which made one gasp with disbelief yet again. Not just the lyrics of the song are quirky, even it's setting, visuals and presentation truly belong to 'now what was that' variety, though truly original.

Picture this. The number isn't picturised on the lead actor Abhay Deol but a couple of young men who are dressed up as poor versions of Elvis Presley (purposely done in this way). Hailed as 'Patna Ke Presley', the duo gets into some aggressive dance moves even as Band Masters (yes, this is how the singers for 'Emotional Atyachaar' like to call themselves) Rangila and Raseela go all out in ensuring that a listener may love or hate the song but not ignore it.

Truly weird in a funny manner, the song is one of the many unique songs that would be heard in DEV D. Aiming for a 6th February release; this UTV Spot Boy production stars Kalki and Mahi Gill as Chandramukhi and Paro respectively. DEV D is Anurag's modern day take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's classic novel Devdas.
