2006 was an eventful year for Emraan Hashmi.
Though he had three releases to his name (GOOD BOY BAD BOY, THE TRAIN, AWARAPAN), only AWARAPAN worked in his favor as it brought him immense critical acclaim. Close to a year after his last release, Emraan gets ready with his latest film JANNAT, yet again with Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt.
Says Emraan, "I play the character of a bookie in the film who rises from being a street side gambler to someone high up there in the international circuit. It is an author backed role."
He goes on to add, "Unlike the serious character I played in my critically appreciated AWARAPAN, in JANNAT I play a man of my age. I have whacky and mischievous shades, something which goes with the kind of image I have developed ever since AASHIQ BANAYA AAPNE and AKSAR hit the screens."
JANNAT is gearing up for May 2008 release.
