Folks, its time for Shahid's annual solo hit!

In these difficult times, when proper hits are far and few between, Shahid Kapoor has managed to deliver big solo hits, year after year!
It was the year 2006, the Rajshris and director Sooraj Barjatya were going through a bad phase with a safe as a house film, MAIN PREM KI DIWANI HOON (2003) and some smaller projects proving to be losing propositions. Sooraj went in for a complete revamp, in came a new 'Prem' in the form of a young Shahid Kapoor along with the girl next door, Amrita Rao and also old warhorse composer Ravindra Jain. And together they created magic with VIVAH, which turned out to be the first major solo hit for Shahid.
Though for personal reasons, the first half of year 2007 may not have been a very memorable one for Shahid (he was more in the news for his break up with Kareena), but the second half saw him return with another humongous hit in the form of JAB WE MET.
With 2008 going through bad times and less than half a dozen clean hits so far, it looks as if it is that time of the year when Shahid decides to deliver his annual solo hit! Yes, the Aziz Mirza directed KISMET KONNECTION appears to be a winner all the way. The unique and much talked about pairing of Shahid and Vidya, the compositions by the lucky music director Pritam and of course the super intelligent and exciting promos seem to have done the trick and it appears that another hit is on the way for Shahid!
