Govinda to concentrate on comedy for now

After his superlative performance in last year's blockbuster, PARTNER, ex-comedy king, Govinda has been inundated by offers from makers. As expected, most of the roles that he has been offered and the projects in which he is working are comedies. Be it this Friday's release, MONEY HAI TOH HONEY HAI, David Dhawan's under-production, DO KNOT DISTURB, Ravi Chopra's BANDA YEH BINDAAS HAI or MAIN AUR MRS. KHANNA, most of his forthcoming ventures are light hearted fun flicks.
Not many will know that Govinda was offered the role played by Anil Kapoor in Subhash Ghai's TAAL but he refused it. Another role of substance that he rejected was Ganesh Acharya's SWAMI, the part that later went to Manoj Bajpai. So will Govinda learn from his missed opportunities and start doing more meaningful roles? Well it appears that we will have to wait for a while before we see the serious side of Govinda, as he is happy doing what he is doing right now, that is comedy! Govinda has categorically stated that he will not do any off beat or serious stuff right now. May be after a while, he will re-think.
Well, do we mind? Not really, but knowing that Govinda is a brilliant actor it does bother us to see him not showing his complete range as an actor, and restricting himself to roles and characters that do not really justify his talent.
However, keeping that aside Govinda looks in full form and in total control in today's laugh riot, MONEY HAI TOH HONEY HAI, so just go and enjoy it!
