UTV Motion Pictures latest heart wrenching venture MUMBAI MERI JAAN is all set to release on 22nd August. The film is based on real life disruptive event of the Mumbai serial train blasts. The film is directed by much acclaimed director of DOMBIVLI FAST Nishikant Kamat, who received an overwhelming response to his last film.

Paresh Rawal for the role of a police officer in this film lost 15 kilos to look alike the character of a police officer who is about to retire. In addition to the weight loss, Paresh Rawal also grew a moustache for this role.

This hard hitting drama also stars R. Madhavan, Soha Ali Khan, Irrfan Khan, K.K. Menon and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles.

MUMBAI MERI JAAN explores the impact of this devastating incident on the lives of the people of Mumbai. From a feisty reporter to a patriotic corporate man; from a retiring policeman to a rookie cop; from an unemployed youth to a coffee-vendor: MUMBAI MERI JAAN follows the lives of people from all strata of Mumbai's bustling society as they tackle the after-effects of a fatal incident that brings out the best and sometimes worst in them. It's a story of ordinary people set in one extraordinary circumstance - that one event on the evening of July 11, 2006 - which forms the crux of MUMBAI MERI JAAN.

Other credits include lyrics by Yogesh Vinayak Joshi and music by Sameer Phaterpekar.

The film is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
