Years after he was seen first in a movie titled YAMRAJ, Mithun Chakraborty would now be seen in a movie where his character is called 'Yamraj'. Though the 1998 release featured Gulshan Grover in the title role of 'Yamraj', this time around director Ashu Trikha has ensured that Mithun himself gets to play the character.
However, to set matters straight, the film is not a remake of the Rajiv Babbar directed potboiler which was a decent success when released a decade back. Instead, the film is centered in underworld with Mithun Chakraborty being joined by Om Puri, both of whom play cops in the film. While Puri plays a senior cop, Mithun is an encounter specialist.
Though the film hasn't been titled yet, it would be interesting to see whether Trikha chooses to title his action thriller as YAMRAJ itself. Incidentally, this isn't Trikha's first stint with Mithun since his ZINDAGI TERE NAAM, an emotional drama which has been ready for last few months, is waiting to see a theatrical release.
Coming back to Mithun's character of 'Yamraj', this is not the first time that the veteran actor has featured in a film that bears such deadly names. Some of his notable Ooty-wood films with scary titles like this have been CHANDAAL, RAVAN RAAJ, JALLAD, ANGAARA, MAFIA RAAJ, SHERA, BENGAL TIGER and MARSHAL!
