Shammi Kapoor felicitated at the Grand Finale of the 10th Osian's Cinefan Film Festival
Over the last two days Mumbai witnessed Osian's Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema. The festival concluded with a dazzling grand finale at the NCPA on 14th June 2008 amidst much fervour and excitement.
One of the best loved actors and a veteran of Indian cinema, Shammi Kapoor was felicitated at the event. At this moment a standing ovation by the audience present in the theatre just meant to show that the love for one great star does not dim over the years. People cheered and shouted YAHOO! Aamir Khan for his sheer love for Shammi Kapoor was on the stage for the felicitation as was Shakti Samantha and Lekh Tandon.
The unveiling of the scale model of the 'Osianama' by some of the leading lights of the cultural world was another highlight of the event. Shyam Benegal, Sarayu Doshi, Basu Chatterjee, Gieve Patel, Syaed Mirza, Dina Vakil, Kiran Shantaram, Sangita Kathiwada were present on the stage together to support Osian's flagship cultural complex Osianama.
Founder Chairman Mr. Neville Tuli says, 'The Grand Finale of the 10th Osian's Cinefan Film Festival Mumbai was a brilliant success and the unveiling of the Osianama has created a huge expectation amidst our public, intelligentsia and the film faternity. I hope Osian's and myself will be able to fulfill these expectations. The momentum for the 10th Osian's Cinefan Film Fetsival has now built up and as they say DELHI CHALO....'
