 Sonu Nigam's new song 'Dhanya Dhanya' from his new romantic-classical album, is an ode to womankind, not only to those women in his life - mother, wife & sister, but also to all the other women around the world.
The song is being released soon and as International Women's day is around the corner too, he would like to wish all the women out there and wishes that it wasn't only this one day that we celebrated women and womanhood, as they are the essence in our lives in different forms and should be important in everyday. 'Dhanya Dhanya' talks about how women take up different forms like that of goddesses like Durga,Laxmi and Kali, a mother who gives birth and nurtures a child, a wife, and a sister and that of a daughter. They give up so much in their lives and do so much that they sometimes even forget themselves and their desires. He also believes that women should be respected and given equality in all aspects of the society.
On asking Sonu says, " As I am analyzing life, especially after witnessing the entire nine months process of my wife's pregnancy and delivery, and who is now gently and lovingly nurturing him up in front of my eyes. I am realizing what immense contribution the female sex makes to man kind. I have been able to respect my mother more than ever. Not just mine but every mother in this world. And not just every mother but every woman little or grown, because I now more sincerely respect the fact that every woman is a gateway to this world. There is no other way in. Thus, I thought of dedicating this song of mine in a very profound way to women kind. Ajay Jhingran penned one of the most touching lyrics to this beautiful song."
