Actress Minissha Lamba recently turned down a - hold your breath - Rs 50-lakh offer to be the face of a national talent hunt contest titled 'Star Makers Item Bomb 2008' only because she didn't like the name of the show. A spokesperson for the organizers of the event Star Makers said that they had contacted Minissha to represent the project as the face and the brand ambassadress for the contest which is a Reality Show to be aired on a popular national entertainment channel.
Apparently, Minissha asked the organizers to come up with a different name for the contest as 'Item Bomb' sounded and felt very raunchy and down market. The stumped organizers said they would get back to her if that was possible. "Minissha liked the concept and wanted to be a part of the project but she didn't like the name of the event, said Sia Jaiswal, Manager - Projects, StarMakers India.
Minissha agreed that she was contacted and said that she had asked the organizers to get back to her with some other options. The organizers who have got the name registered were at their wits end, as they had to go back to the drawing board if they wanted Ms Lamba to be a part of the show.
