KAHAANI GUDIYA KI, which is based on the real life story of Gudiya, is ready for release. The film, which was completed by the middle of last year, is now sighting a release on 11th April. Divya Dutta enacts the character of Gudiya, a Muslim woman.
As per the film's director Prabhakhar Shukla, the film is an attempt to portray the trauma which Gudiya went through before she died.
KAHAANI GUDIYA KI has Divya Dutta in a challenging role of Gudiya, a 26-year-old woman from Uttar Pradesh, who finds herself in a paradoxical situation. As she falls in love with her second husband Taufeeq (Rajpal Yadav), she does not want to leave him when her first husband, solider Mohammad Aarif (Arif Zakaria) returns from a Pakistani jail.
GUDIYA finally died in 2006 in an army hospital.
The film is produced by Lemon N Yellow Productions and also stars Seema Biswas and Akhilendra Mishra in key roles. Special mention goes to Jagjit Singh who has rendered the theme song for KAHAANI GUDIYA KI.
