While majority of film industry is standing up against the proposed ban on on-screen drinking by the Health Ministry, one man who is singing a different tune is Jimmy Sheirgill. However, he has reason to do so. Read on to know why!

"I am perfectly fine if Health Ministry feels that actors should not endorse drinking on screen", Jimmy makes his stand clear, "And that's because I seriously believe that whatever good scenes on drinking had to be written and enacted, they have been exhausted. Drunken act begins and ends with Mr. Bachchan and there has been no one and there would be no one who can perfect the art."

"Tell me if anyone can match Mr. Bachchan of SHARAABI? Or HUM? Or AMAR AKBAR ANTHONY? When he has already done it all on screen, there isn't much left for anyone else in any case to do something better. Let the ban come on, we are happy to see the earlier films with Mr. Bachchan getting drunk", says Jimmy with tongue in cheek.

In case the ban extends to the satellite broadcast of the films as well with drinking scenes either getting blurred or getting completely chopped off, where would he or for that matter millions of other Bachchan fans look for an alternative?

Jimmy replies with a full throated laugh, "Are you kidding me? In that case SHARAABI would have only solo scenes of Pran saab while HUM would have to begin from second half onwards. I don't think anything as absurd like this would ever be thought of."

In some of his recent films like STRANGERS, DUS KAHANIYAAN, CHODDON NAA YAAR and DELHII HEIGHTS, Jimmy has been seen drunk/on drugs in quite a few scenes.

His upcoming release is HASTEY HASTEY which is aiming for a 23rd May release. The film marks the debut of two leading ladies - Nisha Rawal and Monishka. Rajpal Yadav is the special attraction of HASTEY HASTEY since the actor is being seen in a triple role in the film.
