The name game in DE TAALI

An extra r, s, a or some other vowel is a trend when it comes to celebrities looking at their names being spelt different. Numerology is the reason behind that and though till date no analysis has been provided on how a different spelling has actually contributed to the subsequent success of a celebrity, the trend has started traversing multiple domains and industries.

Coming back to our dear old Bollywood, a film maker hasn't just opted for a change in the spelling of his name. Instead he has opted for his entire name to be mentioned differently for his credits in film's posters and other publicity material. The film in question is DE TAALI and the man is Eshwar Niwas.

Eshwar Niwas, who all this while has been known as plain and simple E Niwas.

In fact this is for the first time this Ram Gopal Varma protege is being addressed by his full name. From his debut directorial outing SHOOL to his latest release MY NAME IS ANTHONY GONSALVES, the young man who has rose from being a spot boy to a full fledged director has always been known as E Niwas.

However, it is pretty much apparent that a continued bad run at the box office has prompted E Niwas to now become Eshwar Niwas. Though none of his five films released so far - SHOOL, LOVE KE LIYE KUCH BHI KAREGA, DUM, BARDAASHT and MY NAME IS ANTHONY GONSALVES have been pushovers, the film maker hasn't quite tasted a bona fide box office success yet. Appreciation has been coming his way consistently but big money from the ticket window has evaded his films.

Now with DE TAALI looking like fun and comprising of a youthful star cast of Atab Shivdasani, Ritesh Deshmukh, Ayesha Takia and Rimi Sen, it seems that it would be some good luck times ahead for Eshwar Niwas. A breezy entertainer, DE TAALI has caught attention of Bollywood buffs ever since its promos were out last week. Signature tune by Vishal and Shekhar for the title song is fitting into the groove as well which can work as further relief for Eshwar Niwas.

And yes, if the film turns out to be a success, he can as well continue to use the same name for his subsequent projects as well!
