In a rare blend of a discerning Indian distributor joining hands with a specialty Hollywood studio, PVR Pictures and Focus Features have entered into an agreement to bring as many as thirteen films from Focus Features to Indian theatres this year.

Commenting on this development, PVR Pictures CEO Ashish Saxena emphasized on the long-term relation shared by PVR with Focus.
"Right From EASTERN PROMISES to RESERVATION ROAD, we have distributed Focus Features' films in India quite often. As quality films are our priority too, we decided to make the deal official."

FOCUS FEATURES - the specialty filmmaking unit of NBC Universal Limited - has brought world-class movies for years. Their collection- BROKE BACK MOUNTAIN, EASTERN PROMISES, SCOOP, ATONEMENT- speaks volumes.

PVR Pictures has successfully distributed DAN IN REAL LIFE from Focus Features in May. Forthcoming releases include:

- IN BRUGHES (Colin Farell)
- MISS PETTIGREW LIVES FOR A DAY (Directed by Bharat Nalluri, *ing Frances McDormand)
- THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL (*ing Scarlett Johannson and Natalie Portman)
- BE KIND REWIND (*ing Jack Black)
- BURN AFTER READING (*ing George Clooney)
- STRANGERS
- BLINDNESS (Opening Film at Cannes)

Some films included in this list have won acclaim across the world.
BURN AFTER READING, the George Clooney starrer, is the opening film at the forthcoming Venice Film Festival. BLINDNESS opened the Cannes film festival this year, and the closing film WHAT JUST HAPPENED will also be distributed in India by PVR Pictures. This once again reiterates PVR Pictures' stand for quality.

In the last 2 years, PVR Pictures' brought unusual films like PARIS J'ETAIME, DEATH AT A FUNERAL, and EVENING. Which is why, PVR Pictures is collaborating with more international studios that have a bouquet of similar quality films to offer.

PVR is also distributing Kimmel International films like the forthcoming TALK TO ME and CHARLIE BARTLETT.

The focus behind both these distribution deals is to be a discerning distributor in India who brings the audience a side of Hollywood beyond super heroes and crashing cars.
