Well known and reputed author, Farrukh Dhondy's latest paperback, a crime thriller, THE BIKINI MURDERS, said to be loosely based on the life of one of the most talked about criminal alive, Charles Shobraj, has become an international bestseller. Farrukh says that he had not written the novel with a preconceived notion of it being turned into a film, but he says that he is getting calls from many filmmakers who have shown interest in his novel. So, he is quite positive that if things work out THE BIKINI MURDERS might even be made into a film.
When queried about who should play the main lead, that of its protagonist, Johnson That, Farrukh Dhondy feels Aamir Khan, the perfectionist actor would be perfect for the role of a serial killer! Another actor who Farrukh seemed impressed with was Saif Ali Khan and he said that even Saif would do a good job as a serial killer. He also added that if the film were to be made in English, the only Hollywood actor who can do justice to the character is Johnny Depp.
Interesting thoughts indeed. We are sure that Aamir Khan would be the perfect choice for the role of a Bikini Murderer and are hoping that the thrilling novel would indeed be made into a film. Any interested filmmaker listening?
