Eid has not turned out to be as bountiful for Bollywood as was expected and both the releases, Goldie Behl's DRONA and Sanjay Gadhvi's KIDNAP have opened below the mark. In fact, critics have panned both the films and the word of mouth is also not very encouraging, although KIDNAP is leading DRONA in many circuits (as predicted in our last box office report). All said and done, the ball in now in the audiences court and its up to them to give their verdict.
In fact when we spoke to the director of DRONA, Goldie Behl, just a few days back he had said the same ''We have put in our best effort and pushed the envelope. It's now for the audience to decide.''
A section of the trade is of the view that since DRONA is a fantasy joyride, it will appeal more to the children (who will naturally come with their family), rather than the masses who throng the theatres on the first and second day. Even Goldie agreed on that front, and when we asked him if he has any special message that he wished to convey through us he said, ''The roots of DRONA lie in the Indian mythology and the best thing about DRONA is that the whole family can sit together and enjoy the film.''
Well, we tend to agree with Goldie whole heartedly
