Yash Raj Films has a reason to celebrate. It's BACHNA AE HASEENO has not just done well in the initial weeks but has also managed to stay on well at the box office. An event which is quite rare in the current scenario, the film has completed 50 days at theaters, hence showing its hold over the box office for a continued period of time.

The film entered its 8th week and it is commendable considering the kind of competition it has faced ever since it's release. While it arrived only a week after SINGH IS KINNG, the biggest money spinner of 2008 so far, this Siddharth Anand directed film released alongside Salman Khan–Amitabh Bachchan starrer GOD TUSSI GREAT HO. A week later arrived PHOONK which has proven to be HIT at the box office.

Two weeks later ROCK ON released; a HIT which is still continuing to find an audience. After three weeks, it had to face the might of Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher who made sure that audiences throng into theaters for A WEDNESDAY. Then there was a surprise success in the form of 1920 which followed a week later and managed to attract quite a few eyeballs. This wasn't enough as WELCOME TO SAJJANPUR turned out to be yet another success of September.

In its 7 week run so far, BACHNA AE HASEENO has faced challenge from 6 successful films (SINGH IS KINNG, PHOONK, ROCK ON, A WEDNESDAY, 1920 and WELCOME TO SAJJANPUR) and has still not just stayed afloat but in the process netted just a little less than 40 crores at the box office.

Now with the film's VCDs already out on stands and DVDs arriving soon, BACHNA AE HASEENO should manage to find a home video audience for itself till year end at the least!
