The shoot of Planman Motion Pictures' THE LAST LEAR saw Amitabh Bachchan in a strange mode of enthusiasm. We all know that he is a thorough professional. In an age when many actors report hours late, Amitabh Bachchan used to report before time for his shoot.

He was so excited for playing Harry and wearing the long, flowing wig, that he often reached even before the crew was there! Can you imagine their surprise when they came in early in the morning and saw that Amitabh was already sitting there? At once, his makeup and costume people used to get down to work. And once he was ready, way before the scheduled time, he would roam around the sets and ask in Bengali, ''Preity kothaai?'' (Where is Preity?)

His baritone voice would reverberate in the valleys of Mussoorie and shake up the entire unit! Poor Preity, who was always on time, was not prepared to be before time like Bachchan and would often be seen running to catch up with the enthusiasm of the Big B!
