Sai Paranjpe could have made SAAS BAHU... - Farooq

SAAS BAHU AUR SENSEX would be unveiled in a fortnight's time and Farooq Sheikh, who plays an integral part of the film, is quite sure about the film working with the audience.
Though he knows that it explores a new subject altogether in a light hearted manner (a group of ladies - read saas and bahu - deciding to learn the tricks of how Sensex operates and trying to earn some good money), Farooq Sheikh doesn't agree that SAAS BAHU AUR SENSEX is a film which could have been attempted only by a film maker from the current generation.
"I am sure that a film like SAAS BAHU AUR SENSEX could have been made by Sai Paranjpe herself. She was always progressive and wanted to explore different subjects in each of her films. Look at her films like CHASHME BADDOOR, KATHA and SPARSH. She didn't follow a conventional route and told real life tales in an entertaining manner."
All praise for Shona Urvashi, the young maker of SAAS BAHU AUR SENSEX, Farooq Sheikh says, "She has presented this film as a cute and nice sensible comedy. She has done well to follow the tradition of narrating simple tales. This is why I believe that the film is a kind which brings back the memories of Sai Paranjpe brand of cinema. It's just that considering this is 2008, stock market becomes one of the aspects of the tale."
"Shona has made a film which one can watch with an entire family, and this is where the strength of SAAS BAHU AUR SENSEX lies. Thankfully you won't cringe in your seats once the laughter begins. It is a clean film and we all are quite proud to have achieved what we had set out for", concludes Farooq Sheikh who is retuning to silver screen after a break of 15 years.
