From being Bollywood's original action hero to one of industry's highest paid actors' it has been one roller coaster ride for today's Superstar Akshay Kumar.
Akshay commenced his film career with SAUGANDH but it went unnoticed. Though he had a difficult start in the industry but then in 1992 he came thumbs up with a superhit thriller KHILADI which changed his fate and with that there was no looking back for this tall & lanky guy of Delhi.
His consecutive triumph with 'Khiladi' series like KHILADI, MAIN KHILADI TU ANARI, SABSE BADA KHILADI, KHILADIYON KA KHILADI earned him a tag of 'Khiladi Kumar' in the industry.
To break his action hero image Akshay even tried his hands with different genres like comedy, romance, drama, etc and stood immensely successful with comedy. His HERA PHERI series earned him critical as well as commercial success. And soon he got recognized as the new comedy king of Bollywood with his rib-tickling performances each time.
2007 proved to be Akki's most successful year during his career span in the industry. With a string of hits under his belt he now stands in the top slot. His SINGH IS KINNG this year had the biggest opening for an Indian film ever. It even broke the records made by SRK's OM SHANTI OM.
What makes his journey in the film industry all the more special is that without having any film background or any Godfather, he made his own stand. And he is considered as one of the most sought after actors in B-town today.
