Eight more movies before September ends

September is turning out to be one of the most crowded movies of the year 2008 with as many as 11 movies arriving at theaters. While the week gone by has already seen three movies hitting the screens (A WEDNESDAY, HIJACK and TAHAAN), the remainder of the month is crowded too with 3 movies confirmed for today, 4 movies releasing a week later and at least one more film on 26th September before biggies start arriving from 2nd October onwards.

The movies which are releasing today across the country are 1920, THE LAST LEAR and RU BA RU. Yet again, the week sees different genres being explored with Vikram Bhatt's horror flick 1920 taking on Rituparno Ghosh's dramatic venture THE LAST LEAR. A clash between a hardcore mass film v/s a class outing, it should be exciting time at the ticket window. There is a mature romantic tale in the form of RU BA RU which marks the comeback of Randeep Hooda along with ROCK ON girl Shahana Goswami. Apparently based on IF ONLY, the film surprisingly comes sans any buzz or hype.

A week later, things would get further crowded with Warner Bros. announcing their arrival in Bollywood with their multiplex presentation SAAS BAHU AUR SENSEX. A light hearted entertainer, it has WELCOME TO SAJJANPUR for company which is the first comedy flick of Shyam Benegal's career. HULLA is third comedy of the week as this Sushant Singh-Rajat Kapoor film tries to do BHEJA FRY at the box office. Also, if things go well for Mirchi Movies, they would eventually be able to release their HARI PUTTAR - A COMEDY OF TERRORS which is certainly looking polished.

A film which hardly looks polished though is CHAL CHALA CHAL which is an old skeleton from the closet of Govinda. Arriving on 26th September, it is a long forgotten film which projects itself as being a comedy but doesn't look enticing at all. There are also chances of Gracy Singh's long stuck CHANCHAL finally seeing the light of the day though conformation on the same is still awaited.

11 movies and 4 weekends - Take your pick before October arrives with its own bouquet of 12 movies. Whew!
