Anupam Kher quips that if he would have chosen to do only the 'best and the meatiest' of roles to have come his way, he may have worked in perhaps only 15 movies in his two and a half decade old career. He admits that a film like A WEDNESDAY comes only once in a while and rather than wondering about whether he should be doing only those films which have him as a lead protagonist, he would rather sit back and enjoy the success, accolades and the appreciation which it is bringing for everyone associated with it.

''Tell me how many times a week or a month you can eat Biryani; after all the daily meal is still 'daal roti', isn't it'', Kher gives an analogy here as he talks about the bouquet of films he has done over the period of time, ''The same holds good for anything and everything that you do in a daily routine. It is 90% monotony and 10% excitement. Not that you don't enjoy monotony; that's the kind of work we actors do in quite a few movies and I am happy with that. But then something like A WEDNESDAY comes up which brings with it that 10% excitement.''

But doesn't he feel that an actor of his stature who has found international recognition could slow down on his work and pick up only those projects which, for the lack of better term, as less frivolous?

''In that case I would have done only 15 movies since the time I got noticed in SARAANSH'', smiles Kher, ''It doesn't work that way. One has to do a balancing act. I am glad that Neeraj Pandey gave us all a film like A WEDNESDAY. Each of us is very proud of it and its superb box office success has only come as an icing on the cake. It is nice to see audience coming up with such a huge response to this small film of ours.''
