UTV strikes gold again with WELCOME TO SAJJANPUR

Golden run of UTV continues month after month. Now their latest offering, WELCOME TO SAJJANPUR, has hit the bulls eye as well and is a clear success; something that can be declared even as the first week run is yet to be through.
In it's first 3 days itself, the film has netted close to 5.5 crores, a feat which is even more admirable considering it has Shreyas Talpade leading from the front. Though the young man has been known for his acting prowess ever since the release of IQBAL, carrying an entire film on his shoulders was something which was being keenly observed. Now that he has managed to do that with WELCOME TO SAJJANPUR, and that too in a film which has a village setting to it, Shreyas has managed to place himself into a higher bracket.
WELCOME TO SAJJAPUR is a great win for UTV which has now maintained a cent percent record for itself in 2008 in spite of a plethora of releases. JODHAA AKBAR, RACE, KISMAT KONNECTION, MUMBAI MERI JAAN, A WEDNESDAY – it has been an embarrassment of riches for UTV.
With its international wing working well too with the success of THE HAPPENING, UTV has emerged as the premier production house which is making movies across genres with the kind of budgets that truly suit a film's subject. Also taking calculated risks while acquiring varied projects and placing its bets on just the right subjects, UTV has managed to consolidate its place firmly in the world of movies.
In 2008, some of the upcoming movies from UTV include soon to be released FASHION followed by OYE LUCKY LUCKY OYE, DHOONDTE REH JAAOGE and DEV D. 2009 would enjoy a kick start for itself too with releases like DILLI 6, MAIN AUR MRS. KHANNA, JOHNNY MASTANA, KISSAN, KAMINEY and YAHOO.
