It was a proud moment for Bachchans & Kumars here on Tuesday morning when their respective family member - Bollywood's two jewels - Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Akshay Kumar were conferred with the prestigious Padmashri awards at a function in New Delhi. The function took place at Ashoka Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
President Pratibha Patil felicitated the two Bollywood stars with the honour for their contribution to the Indian cinema. The entire Bachchan parivar - Jaya, Amitabh, Abhishek and Shweta Nanda along with family friend Amar Singh. were spotted in the audience to cheer on Ash. Akshay Kumar's wife Twinkle Khanna was also present at the ceremony to root for hubby's achievement.

Aishwarya has made considerable contribution to Indian cinema by her talent and beauty. She's also the first actress to represent the face of Bollywood in the West. Akshay, on the other hand, has emerged as a darling of masses over the years. He has to his credit a number of superhit films.
Both Ash and Akshay don't come from families with film background and therefore made their place in the industry by sheer dedication and hard work.
