SRK chooses his six Angels

After 6 weeks of being put under the scanner of some of the biggest faces in Bollywood, the verdict is out! Ananya Bera (Kolkata), Sunanda Hiroo (Kolkata), Sana Chirwawala(Nagpur), Rupali Kantharia (Mumbai), Samyukta (Bangalore) and Ritika Chhibber (Jabalpur) were declared winners by co-owners of the 'Kolkata Knight Riders', Juhi Chawla and Shahrukh Khan in a glittering finale on Knights And Angels.
The exciting grand finale was a melange of superlative entertainment with action packed performances by the twelve finalists who gave it their best shot. What started with an exhilarating group performance by all the finalists was followed by solo acts, with the final bow being the six v/s. six-challenge group performance. The usually subdued judge, Sourav Ganguly was excitement personified as he jumped on the floor to show his dancing moves for the first time ever. Shahrukh Khan awarded the six winners with diamond studded angel pins and Juhi Chawla presented the angels with the official cheerleading uniforms designed by renowned designer Manish Malhotra.
An exhilarated Shahrukh Khan said, ''Today is an important day in my life. I am going to have six new additions to my family of Kolkata Knight Riders and they are special, they are my Angels. Knights and Angels is not a part of the marketing strategy for my cricket team. It is an extension of my belief in spreading the awareness of sports in India. Cheerleading is a big sport in America and cheerleaders have their own fan following. ''
An ecstatic Juhi said, ''For me these girls are not just six random girls who will be performing. Unlike other teams, our Angels will be part of our family. They will have loyalty for our team. So for me, this is a big moment and I can assure you that was the main reason why Shah Rukh and I decided to do this show. Our cheerleaders, will feel triumphant when our team is, will feel the pain of losing the match just like our players do, they can make a difference as they are now part of Kolkata Knight Riders.''
Congratulating the six chosen angels Saurav Ganguly said, ''Now that these girls are a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders journey, they can see up close how entertainment is going to be infused with sports. It is tough to be a performer and to perform continuously will be a strain, but they are young. And if they have adapted themselves to this stage in such a short time, the big platform is theirs for the taking.''
Speaking on behalf of NDTV Imagine Shailja Kejriwal, EVP Content said, ''We have always tried to maintain diversity in the shows we air on NDTV Imagine. Knights and Angels was a unique mix of sports and entertainment for the Indian viewers and an apt prelude to the soon to start IPL. The great response we got for the show motivates us to experiment with newer and fresher concepts. I wish all the six winners and the Kolkata Knight Riders good luck for the coming IPL season.''
The finale episode was a mix of everything; from emotions running high to ecstasy of the winners to a star studded performance by Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Shiamak Dawar and Sourav Ganguly along with six angels performing to the Kolkata Knight Riders Anthem 'Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo Re'.
