In the times of recession/slow down when hardly any projects are kick starting in Bollywood, Chunky Pandey recently rejected a solo lead offer that came his way. Even though the money was tempting, Chunky preferred to focus on the content than the moolah and ultimately decided to stay away from the project.

''If I have to make money, there is anyways television for me where I am already doing quite good for myself. So makers have to note that big bucks can't just be the tempting factor for me. I am looking at this new innings for me in Bollywood as a very crucial phase of my career and by no means am I going to let it all go away due to some bad decisions'', says Chunky in a candid conversation.

So what was it about this film that disappointed him?

CHECK OUT: After Farhan now Chunky to Rock On!!

Unwilling to reveal the name of the film or its director, Chunky says, ''First and foremost, the subject itself wasn't anything great. In fact let me not be so polite about the film. If you ask me, it was sheer disaster in the making. It seemed that the makers just wanted to churn out a movie for the sake of it.''

Opening up further, he goes on to add, ''What was narrated by the makers to me was sheer shit. May be all that they were looking for was to begin one movie and then use this announcement to kick start other projects. Frankly, I don't know what their modus operandi was and I don't care either. All I know is that I said a firm No and moved away from the project. I have to safeguard myself from such films even though they are solo hero projects.''

He is hardly shocked at the poor collections that are being seen for each of the films which have released in the recent times.

''Majority of these films came on floors when there was this peak time in the industry. People started churning out projects left, right and center without giving any thought around the end product. It was just money doing the talking'', he reflects, ''It's just the reverse which is being evidenced now with these films opening at 5%-7% collections. It's indeed a sad state.''
