JOHN ANRAHAM and ANURAG KASHYAP

No one could have imagined that after a no-show in NO SMOKING, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and John Abraham would come together ever again, but they are and that too for a big budgeted, multi-starrer titled BOMBAY VELVET.

There are many theories doing the rounds as far as the story of the film is concerned. However what is clear is that the film is a thriller and is set in the early 60's Bombay. It is based on true stories, taken from real life incidents and shows how Bombay changed from a city to a metropolis.

CHECK OUT: JOHN ABRAHAM Interview

The iconoclastic director (in his columns) reveals that the film is based loosely on the life of the legendary filmmaker and actor, Guru Dutt, who Anurag holds in great esteem. Another story doing the rounds is that the film is about a real life hero of the masses from the 60's. But amidst all that one factor that is common is that the film is set in Bombay of the 60's.

So, the audience should be prepared for a period film from the filmmaker who has always dared to be different. Period films have always been exciting and to see one from Anurag Kashyap's point of view would definitely be an intellectually satisfying experience for those who demand more than just time pass entertainment.
