CHANDRACHUR SINGH |
| Seven years after shooting for his last film BHARAT BHAGYA VIDHATA and two years after his last release SARHAD PAAR (2007), Chandrachur Singh is making a comeback to the silver screen. He would be seen in a part Live - part animation film MARUTI MERA DOSST which is slated for release soon.
In this film which is based in current times but has mythical elements involved (with Gods and Demons in full force), Chandrachur Singh towers the cast which includes Ritika Shrivastava, Erik A. Nanda, Sushmita Mukherjee, Murli Sharma, Vindu Dara Singh and Shahbaaz Khan. The film is produced by his brother Abhimanyu Shekhar Singh and directed by first timer Manikya Raju who has also written the story.
As per Chandrachur Singh, MARUTI MERA DOSST is a children's film and he is glad that he is making a big screen comeback after so many years. He had suffered a major accident a few years back due to which he couldn't face the camera for a long time. However, now he is fit and raring to go.
Chandrachur Singh had a good start to his career with back-to-back successes like MAACHIS (1996), TERE MERE SAPNE (1996), DIL KYA KARE (1999), DAAG - THE FIRE (1999), KYA KEHNA (2000), JOSH (2000) and AAMDANI ATHANII KHARCHA RUPAIYA (2001). In fact the only few films of his that hadn't worked were BETAABI, SHYAM GHANSHYAM and SILSILA HAI PYAR KA but overall he enjoyed a very good strike rate when it came to box office results.
Now one looks forward to what Chandrachur Singh has to offer in MARUTI MERA DOSST.
