DELHI-6 and DEV.D, both films from the UTV Motion Pictures stable, will see a special screening at the prestigious 66th Venice International Film Festival in the 'Out of Competition' section. Organized by La Biennale di Venezia, the Festival will be held on the Venice Lido from 2nd to 12th September 2009. The Festival has the official recognition of the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Associations). A maximum of six 'Out of Competition' films will be screened under this section at the Festival, the aim of which is to raise awareness and promote the various aspects of international cinema in all its forms: as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and tolerance.

At the official press conference that took place in Rome today, the sixth time Film Festival director, Marco Muller announced the line up of the festival.

According to Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO, UTV Motion Pictures, ''The Venice festival is one of the most acclaimed film festivals in the world and it is indisputably acknowledged as the artistic pinnacle for a film to be screened here. Receiving a platform there for not one but two of our films is a rare honour. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (for DELHI-6) and Anurag Kashyap (for DEV.D) are two of India's most talented directors and we are honoured to have collaborated with them to create these great films.''

Many of UTV's critically acclaimed titles have been traveling the festival circuit, including DELHI6, JODHAA AKBAR, A WEDNESDAY!, WELCOME TO SAJJANPUR, OYE LUCKY! LUCKY OYE!, MUMBAI MERI JAAN, FASHION, and others. They have been and some will be, screened at many prestigious Film Festivals such as the Taormina Film Festival, Shanghai International Film Festival, South Asian Film Festival, Moscow International Film festival, the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PIFFF), Indo-American Arts Council's 9th Annual MIAAC Film Festival and at the Museum of Modern Arts.
