What Veer Pratap Singh means to Saif & Yash Raj!

The name Veer Pratap Singh may sound a bit too dated as well as aristocratic, but this is one name that features in not one but two films of recent times. Yes, all those who have seen Imtiaz Ali's LOVE AAJ KAL will remember the lovable character, Veer Pratap Singh, played by senior actor Rishi Kapoor, who represents the older generation in the film.

However, there is another film which has still not been released that has a female character which goes by the name of Veer Pratap Singh! We are talking about Yash Raj's upcoming DIL BOLE HADIPPA, with Rani Mukherji and Shahid Kapoor. Rani essays two roles in the film. One is that of Veera Kaur (female) and the other Veer Pratap Singh, a fictitious name that she uses when she disguises herself as a 'sardar' in order to get into the village cricket team. So, Veera Kaur becomes Veer Pratap Singh in DIL BOLE HADIPPA! In a way both characters that go by the name of Veer Pratap Sigh in LOVE AAJ KAL and DIL BOLE HADIPPA are Sikhs.
Quite a co-incidence one must say. And here's hoping for a LOVE AAJ KAL like success for Rani-Shahid's DIL BOLE HADIPPA.
