Shahid Kapoor is a serious contender for one of the coveted top positions in the Hindi film industry, and with some solid solo hits he is certainly knocking at the doors of the top five bracket.
However, the heartthrob of countless female fans has never been given him his due, may be because he does not have that huge all time blockbuster to his credit, despite VIVAAH and JAB WE MET. So, will CHANCE PE DANCE prove to be the film which will propel him in to the top five?
Well, chances are that this may happen soon, especially because in Bollywood history repeats itself.

Why are we talking history here? Well, cinelovers will remember that Shah Rukh Khan, despite giving a number of solo hits was languishing as just another top star, but when DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAAYENGE, touted to be SRK's real life love story, captured the hearts of the audience, Shah Rukh became the darling of millions and the crown of King Khan still adorns his wise head. Cinegoers actually identified with the love story and the result is an all time blockbuster which is till running in its 740th week at Mumbai's Maratha Mandir.
Akshay Kuamr's CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA too was said to be his story, but even though the film did not do well, it opened to a good response as it was promoted as Akki's autobiography. The film still has its fans who loved the unique concept of authentic kungfu, a first in Hindi cinema.
The question that arises is- Will CHANCE PE DANCE, rumored to be based on Shahid's life, prove to be a DDLJ for Shahid? History says yes, so we will keep our fingers crossed for Shahid who is often said to bear a strong resemblance to the young SRK.
