Sonam posing with a dove (called Masakali in the film) on her head in Rakeysh Mehra's DELHI - 6 has been creating a lot of buzz. It is heard that Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra auditioned nearly a hundred pigeons for this particular shot in the movie. But then he ultimately settled for a dove.
CHECK OUT: DELHI 6, Pigeons and the quotient of success
Sources inform that ''Rakeysh Mehra wanted to shoot a song with Sonam with a bird sitting on her head. Initially he tried it out with pigeons but they used to fly away. Later on it was music director A.R. Rahman who gave him the idea to use a dove instead of a pigeon because he considered it a symbol of love. Rakeysh Mehra promptly asked for 12 doves on the sets. Ultimately he chose this particular dove which came all over from Assam.''
''Rakeysh had to shell out 13,000 Rs per day for the bird. And he wanted to have that particular scene in the film as he had already scripted it and didn't want to compromise at any cost'' adds our source.
Well Rakeysh Mehra's efforts definitely seem to be worth it. The song has already become new talk of the town. The song also reminds us about Rajshri's film MAINE PYAR KIYA where Bhagyashree sang with a dove on her hand.
