Its known to all that most of the stars are slashing their prices these days in respect to films as well as endorsements. Where the markets are crashing, studio deals are falling through, endorsement deals are being scrapped, there is one actor who is holding his ground firmly. Yes, it's none other than the youth icon Shahid Kapur. Shahid has been signed up as a brand ambassador for Pioneer.
Confirms a source, 'Shahid has been signed on as the Brand ambassador for Pioneer. Apparently it's for their music systems because Shahid is synonymous with music and fun and youth. This line caters to the youth that spends most of their time listening to music. The actor has signed the deal for a whopping price! Even in this time of recession, Shahid is the only star who has got his market price, not a penny less. Also, being a youth icon already, he relates big time to music, dance and masti, the reason why pioneer has signed him. Brand Shahid is getting bigger and bigger. He had also endorsed VIP luggage before.'
Continues a Source, 'Shahid has always been selective about his work, be it movies or endorsements. People have gone ahead and offered him deals worth huge amount of money, but Shahid being so selective; it's never been about the money. It's always about work. Every year 2 to 3 films have been offered to him by big corporate and production houses but the actor has turned them down. Infact when the endorsement sector was on a boom last year, Shahid was approached by at least 10 big brands, but Shahid chose to let them pass. Shahid has been very clear on the kinds of brands that he wants to endorse. He doesn't want to endorse anything that he cannot relate to or that maybe harmful for the youth. He is very conscious about his youth icon status'

Pankaj Kapur , Shahid's father as well as a much respected actor in the film fraternity has signed Shahid for his next venture that he is to direct. Says a source, 'Pankaj sir being a fantastic actor has chosen another actor and not a son. Shahid is doing the best of films currently. He has Vishal Bharadwaj's KAMINAY where he plays a double role, Ken Gosh's tentatively titled YAHOO, which is a movie about a dancing sensation and even Yash Raj's film based on cricket. All these movies focus on his acting skills. Infact the reason why all the big banners have signed him is because he is one young actor who can act and how!'
Looks like Shahid is quite a level headed actor, the reason why everyone wants to sign him. People have now realized that he is actually selective about his work and that he prefers quality over quantity. The endorsement market has opened up to him big time. Everyone has now come to terms with the fact that no other actor right now can relate to the youth better than him.
