With just a few promos, Varun Khanna's Gaurav Kapoor, Hrishita Bhatt, Zakir Hussain and Vrajesh Hirjee starrer, BAD LUCK GOVIND, has aroused quite a bit of curiosity. The comedy looks classy and the treatment quite unique. But there was something in the promo that made us say 'why'? By that we mean why a good, serious actor, known for his hard hitting roles decided to do the character of Krazy Kriplani in the film. So, we decided to put the question to the man himself. Zakir Hussain best known for his outstanding roles in Ramgopal Varma films, especially SARKAR and PHOONK.
Explaining his character in the film Zakir told us, 'I don't believe in restricting myself to any typical type of acting. So, when the role of a Sindhi mobster, Krazy Kriplani came along, I decided to go for it.' On further probing Zakir said, 'These are different kinds of mobsters in the film. They go to the gym, get a 6 pack, bet on anything from cricket to election results and also indulge in a lot of masti and dance. It's not the usual 'bhai' role.' You do have a point, Zakir!
It will be a real treat to watch Zakir, once again in a comic role, after his splendid performance in Sanjay Chhel's MAAN GAYE MUGHALL-E-AZAM.
