Will THE PRESIDENT IS COMING follow the likes of KHOSLA KA GHOSLA, BHEJA FRY, MITHYA and many other films of their ilk? Well, if the reviews and audience response is anything to go by, this Kunaal Roy Kapur directed film is at least making an attempt in that direction. Just like the aforementioned films that came with minimal publicity and went on to be successful at the box office purely based on word of mouth, even THE PRESIDENT IS COMING too has received good to excellent reviews all over with decent word of mouth pouring in as well.

'This was always going be the strategy for our film', says producer Rohan Sippy who is also seeing the release of his CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA next week, 'THE PRESIDENT IS COMING is a very small film and we purposely wanted to go slow with its promotion and marketing. Other film makers make their small films look so big that audience start getting different kind of expectations altogether. In case of our film, we wanted audience to explore it by themselves and spread the word.'

Released at select theaters with a few shows, this Konkona Sen starrer film has been made in English, hence catering to a niche segment.

'No regrets with that', Kunaal Roy Kapur is quick to add, 'We always had urban centers as our target market. Our focus during storytelling was to let the point come across and what I am hearing after an initial response, we have been successful in doing so. I had a great support from the production team with a gifted and talented cast to my disposal. I owe a lot to them. It's a waiting game from here on to see how far THE PRESIDENT IS COMING travels.'
