Nikhil Advani narrates an interesting tale about the title of his upcoming release CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA. Apparently, it was earlier called MERA NAAM CHIN CHIN CHOO and as the script developed further with Akshay's autobiography angle seeping in, the title was changed to more meaningful CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA.

"I was the fourth person to actually come into the film since Rohan (Sippy), Akshay (Kumar) and Sridhar (Raghavan) had already finished quite some work on the film. After Rohan met up with Warner Bros. and closed on making a movie, he met up Sridhar and started working on the germ of the film. As we all know, after that a poster was made and shown to Akshay who agreed to work in the film. This is when I came into picture", reveals Nikhil.

How did the title change happen?

"It was earlier MERA NAAM CHIN CHIN CHOO since the only thing confirmed at that time was the China angle. Sridhar had written it with Sidhu as a cook and as things were worked upon further, things fell into place with Akshay's real life beginning as a cook being incorporated in the film. There wasn't any conscious effort to make the film autobiographical but it all just happened on a gradual note. As the film's final draft started shaping up, we had Chandni Chowk, Akshay Kumar and China as our set characters; hence the film's title", smiles Nikhil.
