Farhan Akhtar: LUCK BY CHANCE is more than just pushing the envelope

DIL CHAHTA HAI, LAKSHYA, DON - THE CHASE BEGINS AGAIN, HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT. LTD., ROCK ON - It has been one illustrious list of films for Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani who have been making films for close to seven years now. With their glowing repertoire of projects, they now expect one more to be added to the list in the form of LUCK BY CHANCE. Yet another film that pushes the envelope?
'I guess the film is much more than just pushing the envelope', says Farhan after a pause, 'We want to tell an interesting story to the people and I don't see any reason why something like telling an interesting story should be equated to pushing the envelope. We have not gone into an alien space in any case. LUCK BY CHANCE is telling the story of people (basically from the film world and outside it) who do exist in this world and society. We want to show them the way they truly are'

What cannot be denied though is the fact that each of the films coming from their banner 'Excel Entertainment' aims at 'excelling' in one way or another, especially when it comes to the narrative format!
'Well, that goes with the essence of the name of our banner, isn't it', smiles Farhan, 'See, we like to explore different avenues of story telling. If you look at each of our films, we have never repeated anything from our previous films. DIL CHAHTA HAI was a buddy film; we haven't made anything like that again. LAKSHYA was a war film. Soon after we moved on to an action thriller DON - THE CHASE BEGINS AGAIN and so and so forth. I constantly feel like this exploring new stories to tell, finding new directors, and new voices. I just hope LUCK BY CHANCE too joins the ranks!'
