Abhay enjoyed being a Devdas!
The reason being that it is a version, which is absolutely contemporary and chic. Plus there was Anurag Kashyap at the helm of affairs as its director and the two have been good friends since long. ''Anurag would just let Abhay be! There was no typical actor director behaviour where the director calls the shots. Anurag would not say anything to Abhay even if he was fiddling with something or playing with a toy. While Abhay likes Anurag's spontaneity which helped him a lot as an actor,'' said a friend of Abhay's.
