As 2009 moves on into its second half, it's time to look back at the year gone by and see how Bollywood has performed so far. While the producers strike resulted in a virtual draught of movies for full two months, poor quality of whatever released didn't help the cause either. Frankly, the picture is quite dull with not even 10 movies making it to the list if one has to select best of the best.

NEW YORK is clearly the hot favourite if one has to pick up the best film that released till the month of June. Audiences flocked in dozens due to multiple reasons, one of them being this Kabir Khan directed film to be the most anticipated film post producers strike. However, fact can't be denied that the smartly packaged promos did the trick. Soon after, audiences started spreading positive word of mouth about this topical film that has seen career best performance from John Abraham.
