When the song and dance number 'Chor Bazaari' was conceptualized for LOVE AAJ KAL, writer-director Imtiaz Ali was quite sure about one thing that he won't be treating it as any other dance number. Along with choreographer Bosco, he designed the song in such a manner that it had a natural appeal to it rather than coming across as overtly filmy.

"This is why when you see 'Chor Bazaari', it doesn't come with a feel of having been 'created'", says Deepika from London where she is currently stationed for the shooting of HOUSEFULL, "Imtiaz and Bosco wanted to have something running on screen that people could relate to. Sometimes dance steps are very impressive on screen but those steps do not come naturally to you in real life. This is what we wanted to do away with in 'Chor Bazaari'. We purposely came up with something that all could not just enjoy seeing but also perform to."

No wonder, the signature step of 'cycle kick' came into being.

"And doesn't it really look so cute", questions Deepika, "The mood of the song is such that such simple steps fit in perfectly well. This means that it shouldn't have come across as filmy. However, let me tell you that to get something as simple as this conceptualized and then made to work isn't an easy task at all. Kudos to Bosco and Imtiaz for making it all fun. It was due to their effort that even I got into just the perfect mood and enjoyed shooting for the song."

Set on the streets of Delhi, 'Chor Bazaari' has a R.D. Burman influence to it. An innocent yet mischievous number, this Irshad Kamil written number is sung by Neeraj Sridhar and Sunidhi Chauhan.
