For the connoisseurs of Hindi cinema, the name AMRAPALI brings back memories of ex MP and veteran actress Vijayanthimala, essaying the role of the royal courtesan to perfection, in Lekh Tandon's 1966 classic of the same name!
It is obvious that classics like AMRAPALI cannot be re-created, but todays audience can take some consolation from the fact that their favourite and number one actress will soon be seen in the get-up of the immortal beauty!

Yes, we are obviously referring to Katrina Kaif, and the film in question is Priyadarshan's upcoming DE DANA DAN. As per confirmed sources, for one of the song sequences (''Main Baarish Kar Doon'') of DE DANA DAN, designer Rocky S has given Katrina the Amrapali look. Apparently Rocky was asked to give Katrina an ethnic-retro look for the song, and he thought it fit to give her the Amrapali look. The song also features the full HERA PHERI team of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty
