ASHUTOSH GOWARIKER

ASHUTOSH GOWARIKER

Some projects hit the headlines and remain highlighted from the day of announcement. One such project is Ashutosh Gowariker's historical offering, the international project, BUDDHA, which has received tremendous amount of attention, right from its humungous budget to its speculative cast. And as always we bring you the latest on that front!

As is known to those who follow regular Bollywood updates, Ashutosh's next after the super success of JOHDAA AKBAR is BUDDHA, which is being made under the banner of the telecom giants, Spice Infotainment. The 100 crore mega project is based on the life of Gautam Buddha. We have news from our very reliable sources in the beautiful hill state of Himachal Pradesh that director Ashutosh Gowariker, Spice group chairman Dr. B.K. Modi and the technical team will visit the state for about ten days, in the first week of June, for location hunting.

CHECK OUT : Will Smith's son to be Ashutosh Gowariker's BUDDHA?

The project director of the Spice Infotainment has sent an application to the Himachal tourism department regarding permission and facilities for location hunting. The regions which have been short listed include Dharamshala (headquarter of the Dalai Lama) and its twin city, Mcleodganj, the tea city of Palampur, Baijnath, Pandoh, Jogindernagar, Beed, Keylong, Narkanda and the amazingly beautiful and picturesque Kinnaur district. The Himachal tourism department while promptly giving the permission has promised full cooperation in this matter and has already written to the administrations of the concerned districts to extend all the facilities and security to the visiting BUDDHA team.
