KAMINEY has a raw energy to it

If those who have had a dekko at Vishal Bhardwaj directed KAMINEY are to be believed, the film maker has an outright winner in hands. The man who has helmed diverse films like OMKARA, MAQBOOL, THE BLUE UMBRELLA and MAKDEE in the past has outdone himself in his first ever thorough commercial affair which is currently piping hot in the trade circles today.

Says a film maker who wishes to be unnamed and has seen the film in a special screening, "Vishal has done it again. Period. There is this signature touch of his which is prevalent over the narrative of KAMINEY. Though genre, subject and treatment wise, the film is far removed from the dark and grim world of OMKARA and MAQBOOL, there is a stamp of his mastery over the craft written all over it. With actors like Shahid and Priyanka on board, he had to make it a commercially viable film and he has more than succeeded in doing so."

Designed as a caper thriller, the film is also said to be boasting of raw energy.

"Exactly", he confirms, "The film is raw, gritty yet extremely entertaining. Vishal has given a young feel to the film, something which is apparent from the 'First Look promo' that has been in theaters as well as web/satellite medium for quite some time now. Watch out for the newer set of promos as the film gets closer to release; you will be zapped. The film is as 'kameeni' as it gets. And I am saying that in a positive way."

Also starring Amol Gupte as a principal protagonist named 'Bhope Bhau', KAMINEY is a UTV Motion Pictures production and is all set for a 14th August release.
