Sharmila Tagore turns victim of an abusive marriage

In her upcoming film MORNING WALK, Sharmila Tagore would be enacting the role of a woman who has been a victim of an abusive and a cold marriage. Directed by Arup Dutta, MORNING WALK stars veteran actor Anupam Kher along with Sharmila Tagore and also stars Rajit Kapoor, Divya Dutta, Shayan Munshi & Nargis. Child actor & BALIKA VADHU girl Avika Gor also makes her on screen debut with the film.
Acclaimed for being one of the few female stars of her generation to achieve a balance between her personal and professional lives, Sharmila Tagore has always been known for her candour. Also, she is remembered as much for her sensitive portrayal of a child bride in Satyajit Ray's APUR SANSAR as she is for her famous swimsuit shots.

''She was roped in for MORNING WALK mainly because the character demanded someone as talented as Sharmila-ji who could treat it with utmost sensitivity'', informs a senior technician attached to the film, ''Anupam Kher and Sharmila Tagore are the two pillars of MORNING WALK. Kher saab plays the role of a Professor who, after living on his own in Kolkata, realizes that he needs to spend more time with his family and hence moves to Mumbai. This is where he meets Sharmila-ji who incidentally was an old student and friend of his years back.''
The film is being touted as a heart tugging tale of two families (those of Anupam Kher and Sharmila Tagore) which are different from one another yet connected through a special bond. The story highlights the relationship between the two families and will see the two stalwarts together on screen 25 years after they first came together in a film called JAWAANI.
MORNING WALK is the maiden production venture of INOX Motion Pictures and is all set to hit the theatres on the 10th July.
