If Hollywood can have its SIN CITY then Bollywood too can have its own SANKAT CITY. A small film which is trying to make its presence felt amidst a plethora of big budget flicks that are arriving practically every week till August end, SANKAT CITY is a comic caper thriller directed by first time Pankaj Advani.

Says Chunky Pandey, one of the principal characters in this ensemble star cast affair, ''SANKAT CITY is a black comedy and shows a flip side of Mumbai. In movies like COMPANY, GANGSTER, LIFE IN A... METRO or EK CHALIS KI LAST LOCAL, you have seen various aspects of Mumbai. Now get ready to see something entirely different in SANKAT CITY. I am sure the film will completely and truly zap you.''

A joint production of Moser Baer and Anubhav Sinha's Seven Entertainment, SANKAT CITY boasts of quite a few diverse artists coming together. They are Kay Kay Menon, Anupam Kher, Rimi Sen, Chunky Pandey (in a double role), Dilip Prabhawalkar (who played Gandhi in LAGEY RAHO MUNNABHAI), Rahul Dev, Yashpal Sharma, Manoj Pahwa and Sanjay Mishra.

In the earlier days of the film's production, there were talks about Irrfan Khan and Konkana Sen Sharma being a part of the film as well but that couldn't quite materialize.

Says prominent script writer Shridhar Raghavan who managed to have a dekko at the film, ''SANKAT CITY is zany, surreal and outrageously funny. Like someone tossed in Manmohan Desai, Brij, a whole lot of 70s freak out VHSes into the blender, added sprinklings of early Kundan Shah, and chucked in John Cleese for good measure. And then turned it on full power. Wow, what a film!''
