| Anurag Basu's next directorial venture after the critically and commercially successful projects like GANGSTER and LIFE.. IN A METRO is KITES, and is certainly one of the most anticipated releases of the year and is getting hotter with each passing day. The tremendous response that the lead pair of superhero Hrithik Roshan and international star, Barbara Mori generated at the Cannes Film Festival was just a precursor to what lies ahead . Produced under the banner of Rakesh Roshan's Filmkarft, KITES promotion is definitely underway, full and proper.

When questioned by journalists as to what is it about the film that would appeal to the public, the response of the director Anurag Basu was, ''KITES has global appeal. It is a cross culture film, a venture that is beyond boundaries.'' He elaborated that the film was basically a love story between two people from different part of the world and ''has a unique theme that will appeal to the global audience, and Spain in general.'' Naturally, because of Barbara who is a Spanish and is a big star down there. While on KITES Anurag added that it was a challenge for him to make the film appealing to the traditional Indian audience as well as to keep its global appeal intact. As per trade and media sources who have seen snatches of KITES in CANNES, ''In the film Barbara speaks Spanish and that has and will attract Spanish people.''
Well, Anurag seeing the way that you have handled your films like GANGSTER and LIFE... IN A METRO, we are sure that you are on way to a blockbuster hit this time around!
