Even though SHORTKUT - THE CON IS ON sounds like a fun outing, it was a difficult film for Arshad Warsi. Reason? He had to adapt three different shades of acting in the film.''I play a bad, in fact a very bad actor in the film'', smiles Arshad, ''Now since I am not a bad actor (grins), I had to act as if I was really bad. However, even while doing so, I had to make sure that I wasn't overacting. So it's a thin rope to walk. ''

And what are the three different shades of acting that he had to adopt?''First shade was to simply play the character, which was easier as I had to be natural. I had to portray Raju who was poor, living in a chawl and is in his struggling phase. The second shade was for the person he becomes after he turns into a superstar. Now all these starry tantrums came into picture, even though all of this is done in a fun mode'', details Arshad.
He admits though that the third shade was the trickiest of the lot.''The kind of character I had to portray during his in-film acting was the most difficult thing to do'', says Arshad, ''So Raju is now trying to be an actor but is miserable when the director calls 'action'. It may sound quite hilarious on screen but believe me it was very difficult to get the 'sur' right in such a role. It was an altogether different style of acting. You will distinctly see three different styles of acting when you watch the film.''
