Bollywood box-office report of the week

Last Friday's Paritosh Painter directed PAYING GUESTS was expected to fair decently, at least in the Bombay-Maharashtra belt but unfortunately that did not happen. Released at around 97 cinemas of Bombay-Thane (by Mukta Movies distributors), PAYING GUESTS embarked on a weak opening. The start was below the mark across India as the Shreyas Talpade, Jaaved Jaaferi, Ashish Chaudhry, Celina Jaitley and Riya Sen starrer failed to tickle the funny bones. Trade feels that the Mukta Arts Entertainment Ltd.'s latest offering will prove to be a losing proposition as the comedy is more contrived than cool. The loss though won't be monumental, thanks to the reasonable budget and the so-so first weekend.
