While Ramu has been known for sticking to his leading ladies [Urmila Matondkar, Antara Mali, Priyanka Kothari], there is also a fact that is seldom called out i.e. his fixation with men from down South. Though there are quite a few character actors from all parts of the country who are regulars in his films, he is also quite a fore runner when it comes to launching newcomer heroes from down South.

Says a close associate of Ramu, ''Isn't it strange that people keep questioning him about his leading ladies or his attachment to Bachchans when the fact remains that every year he launches at least one new male face. Right from SHIVA (Nagarjuna) till AGYAAT (Nitin Reddy), he must have brought so many leading men to Bollywood but no one seems to be talking about them.''

CHECK OUT: AGYAAT Movie Preview

History reveals it all. While Nagarjuna was seen in SHIVA and DROHI, Chakravarty saw quite some recognition coming his way in SATYA (though his performance in VAASTU SHASTRA went unnoticed). Sudeep's first Hindi film was PHOONK and he would be seen again in RANN. In a few months from now, Surya (of Tamil GHAJINI fame) would be launched by Ramu in RAKTA CHARITRA.

Even otherwise, outside this list of men from down South, he has also been giving major breaks to quite a few actors like Aftab Shivdasani [MAST], Manoj Bajpai [SATYA, SHOOL], Fardeen Khan [JUNGLE, PYAAR TUNE KYA KIYA], Vivek Oberoi [COMPANY, ROAD], Mohit Ahlawat [JAMES, SHIVA], Gautam Gupta [GO] and Prashant Raj [RAM GOPAL VARMA KI AAG]. While some of them went on to be successful, many of them couldn't. However, Ramu continued to invest in newcomers, as apparent in upcoming projects like AGYAAT.

Now it has to be been seen whether Nitin Reddy manages to do well with AGYAAT and allow Ramu to continue experiment with new blood in months to come.
