Shaan - Now on big screen

SHAAN

SHAAN

Though Shaan has gained immense popularity as a playback singer and also as a host on the small screen, he has shied away from making appearance on the big screen. However, he made an exception with MORNING WALK where he has not just written and sung a song but also acted in it. The number in question is 'Aasma Choona Nahi' which is said to be the highlight of the film.

It wasn't an easy journey for him though once the director called 'action' since initially Shaan was a little uncomfortable with the dance steps.

Says a source from the production house, ''Aasma Choona Nahi' is a nice dance number and though Shaan has been exemplary as a lyricist and singer there, he had to work hard on getting his dance steps right. It is understandable though since singing is something that is expected to come naturally to him, not dancing. Nevertheless, he cracked it well in the end and though he has a brief appearance in the song, it has come out quite well.''

This should only add value to the song because just 30 seconds into it and you know that the song could have easily passed of as a Pritam track if not for composer Jeet's name on the credits (Jeet and Pritam were once a team before they split). A soft-rock number which makes for an extremely nice hearing, 'Aasma' could have easily found a place in any commercial Bollywood outing with an urban youth flavour to it. Presence of Shaan only adds further weight to 'Aasma Choona Nahi' which deserves to see good promotion coming it's way to help sales of MORNING WALK.

Incidentally, this is one of those rare occasions that Shaan has also appeared in a number sung by him. It was way back in 2000 when he had faced the camera for 'Dil Mera Tarse' in Nana Patekar-Tabu-Shilpa Shetty-Milind Soman starrer TARKIEB.
